Dish of the Day: All At Sea- Jamie Cullum

highlight of the day: dealing with an irrational customer.
i mean, it's bad enough that she yelled at us and she cursed that we won't have good business forever just because we didnt print her 3-year-old daughter's name on the cake (when she didnt mention nuts), she had to say she was educated.
ha! educated people do not scream and shout in public.
"i'm never going to come hear anymore and i'm going to tell all my friends not to come here anymore!" she whined.
the worse part was that we couldn't tell her off, despite the fact that it was palpable that it WASN't our fault.
so my colleague gave her a 10% discount. so as an educated person, she mentally counted in her head and deemed the final cost to be $69.40.
i, as a not so educated person, tried my luck at the calculator, and guess what, THE EDUCATED PERSON'S CALCULATIONS WERE WRONG!
so, i went sort of smugly, "oh, it's $68.40."
she shut up.
i mean, goodness, it's not that i'm racist, but so far almost all the customers that went ballistic in our business history were, well, indians.
this i feel, counts as a case of racial superiority in the more 'educated' but unrefined indians. i mean, if only she didn't say she was an 'educated' person. it's stuck in my head now.
i've encountered unreasonable chinese too but they dont shout and scream. really.
so you see, you kind of cannot blame me for being a tad discriminating sometimes. but thankfully not all of them are like that. i know of an indian auntie who speaks hokkien! and she's uber nice. :)
and anyhow, hopefully i'll get to catch kingdom of heaven tomorrow. and i'm putting on weight. again.
too much work and no play makes jasmine a sad, dull girl.
too much cake and no exercise makes jasmine a fat duck.
